There are two forms used for equations of lines.  This is the one we've already seen and learned to graph:

FORM 1: General (standard)

 

Example: 2x - 3y = 6

Remember that you graph this guy by finding the intercepts!

Do it, baby!

 


 

Here's the new one:

FORM 2: Slope intercept (or y-intercept)

This form is my favorite because, if you know what the pieces are, it's SUPER easy to graph!

Here are the pieces:

y = mx + b, the slope is m and the y-intercept is b
