Coolmath Algebra and Precalculus book...
The algebra books are in a
more streamline format -- based on
algebra topic
versus the typical "textbook" flow.
Note that they are not "Algebra 1" and "Algebra 2" since there
is a lot of overlapping with those courses. I've designed
Coolmath Algebra to supplement your
existing Algebra curriculum (not replace
it.)
Several of the algebra lessons have
been upgraded and expanded from my
Coolmath Algebra site (especially in the "Part
2" book.) Some additional lessons
have been added... And the answers
to all those "your turn" problems are in
the back of the book!
The first two algebra books start with a special bonus
chapter: Your Math Survival Guide. This chapter covers mathphobia,
math anxiety and offers success tips for
algebra and life! It's all the
extra stuff I talk to my own students
about. This chapter teaches you
HOW to learn algebra!
I've written these books so
that it's just like I'm sitting
next to you teaching you this
stuff. It's exactly how I
teach my own students.
They are VERY casual
and easy to read!

About sample copies...
Teachers, I know that
you're used to having the big publishers
send sample copies for you to review (as
I am.) Unfortunately, I won't be
able to do that. Because of the
low price of the books, my profit margin
is way too small... I'd have to
sell a LOT of books to make up for each
sample. Because of their high
price, regular textbooks have HUGE
profit margins. Remember that I'm
a teacher too... One time, a new
book rep made a slip in my office and
told me that the $180 Calculus book
(yes, you read that price right) he was
trying to sell me for my students only
cost them $10 to print. Ouch!
(Boy, the person who was there training
him gave him a REALLY dirty look.)
Publishers just have to sell one book to
make up for several samples sent out...
It's the other way around for me.
But, on a positive note...
Keep in mind that
most of the lessons are already
online on Coolmath,
so you can get a great idea of what the
books are like there!
