Negative Exponents

3^-2

10^-1

2^-5

So, what happens if it's already a fraction with a negative exponent?

1 / 4^-2

Just do the opposite!

1 / 4^-2 = 4^2 = 16

I know that this lesson probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense.  Usually, we can remember math stuff by understanding what's going on -- and that's the best way.  But, for this one, you'll just have to memorize how it works and do it.

Here's another one:

1 / 10^-3 = 10^3 = 1000
