Let's do a harder one!

2 + 30 - 5 x 2^2

 

PEMDAS Do E first... Then, MD... Then, AS

Do the exponent first...  Then, the multiplication...  Then the addition and subtraction from left to right:

2 + 30 - 5 x 2^2 = 2 + 30 - 5 x 4 = 2 + 30 - 20 = 32 - 20 = 12

YOUR TURN:

20 + 2^3 x 5^2

4 x 3 - 2^4 / 2 + 10^2
